Baruch Sadogursk

Head of DevOps Advocacy

Baruch Sadogursky (a.k.a JBaruch) is the Head of DevOps Advocacy and a Developer Advocate at JFrog. His passion is speaking about technology. Well, speaking in general, but doing it about technology makes him look smart, and 19 years of hi-tech experience sure helps. When he’s not on stage (or on a plane to get there), he learns about technology, people and how they work, or more precisely, don’t work together.

He is a CNCF ambassador, Developer Champion, and a passionate conference speaker on DevOps, DevSecOps, digital transformation, containers and cloud-native, artifact management and other topics, and is a regular at the industry’s most prestigious events including DockerCon, Devoxx, DevOps Days, OSCON, Qcon, JavaOne and many others. You can see some of his talks at

Passion … like magnets, it can attract or repel

If you’re in DevRel, it might have been because someone noticed how passionate you are about technology and suggested that you take a role in growing and advocating for a community. Maybe they saw you in action getting other people excited about the technology (or some random crazy thing that you were really excited about that day!)

It’s great if your passion is infectious, but sometimes it can go sideways if you go overboard and stop paying attention to people’s reactions.

In this lightning talk, Baruch will demonstrate some less-than-ideal scenarios and show how to pause and apply leadership skills such as active listening, mirroring, reading body language, and checking in with emotions.
